Stair Lifts

Stair chair lifts provide the least costly means of providing access up and down the stairs for individuals who are unable to navigate them. With many models available to choose from, we have a stair chair lift that will work for most applications and budgets. In addition to the residential market, stair chair lifts have found great popularity with churches and other organizations which are faced with difficulty in providing access to their aging patrons.

Stair lifts are available with the following features:

  • Seats and footrest fold up when chair not in use to allow foot traffic on stairs
  • Fit on standard 36″ residential stairs
  • Battery powered drive systems
  • Swivel seat for safe onloading at top landing
  • Custom curved units for intermediate landings and corners
  • Outdoor units w/ covers
  • Weight capacity up to 400 lbs.

Vertical Platform Lifts

In the residential market, these are commonly referred to as porch lifts because they are typically used to gain access to porches and decks. The vertical platform lifts are becoming increasingly popular in the commercial and church markets as a means of providing ADA access without the significant cost of a commercial elevator.

  • Vertical platform lifts are available:
  • With or without enclosures
  • Can be installed in customer-provided hoistways
  • Can be installed without a 3″ pit and are available with non-rated or fire-rated entrance doors
  • Can be equipped with screw drive or roped-hydraulic drive
  • Are available for travel heights of 3 feet to 14 feet; and
  • Can be equipped for outdoor use

Inclined Platform Lifts

Inclined lifts are designed to transport wheelchair or scooter users up and down existing stairways. The platform folds up to the wall when not being used to allow foot traffic on the stairs. This style of lift requires significant structural support to carry the intended loads and will require careful planning and early design consideration in order to incorporate this lift into most applications.

Dumbwaiters

Dumbwaiters have proven to be invaluable for transporting groceries, firewood, and laundry from floor to floor in multi-storied homes. A dumbwaiter is particularly advantageous when the garage is at a different level than the kitchen in the home.

Dumbwaiters come in a variety of sizes, weight capacities, loading configurations, and cab finishes. Typically, the landing doors are installed by the owner or builder and match the rest of the finished cabinetry in the home. The landing doors are fitted with interlocks to keep the doors from opening unless the dumbwaiter is at that specific level.

While manual (hand-powered) dumbwaiters are available, the most popular dumbwaiter today is the automatic, 120V electric unit.

Residential and commercial dumbwaiters are available.

Builders & Architects

Mobility Concepts offers a large variety of residential elevators and lifts. Sizes, loading configurations, finishes, and drive systems make planning for each elevator unique. We've also provided the typical "Work by Others" sheets for each of these elevator types to ensure that builders/architects allow for these in the early design stages.

Use the planning guides for initial designs, but do not use them as final construction documents. It is quite common to increase hoistway sizes by a couple of inches in both directions for ease of installation and pit depths are typically increased to 10 or 12 inches.

We will gladly assist you during the planning and budgeting phase to incorporate an elevator or lift into your project requirements.

Send us your details and we’ll be in touch soon.
